No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Wilcox escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your prime concern when choosing what to wear on board. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet can be a side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a smart option.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
