A bijou hotel in a very pretty town, very close to the Chenonceau Chateau. Especially the restaurant is fabulous! It has a beautiful separate garden where the pool, sauna, etc are located.
The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel's restaurant was amazingly great. The room was very quaint and had all the amenities possible.
This hotel is a real gem. The room is beautiful and we have enjoyed the sauna snd cold plunge pool! I stayed here 30 years ago. It is even more beautiful, however I remember the restaurant was better back then. I had the worst cafe creme of my trip here
We had a lovely stay here on our mother daughter trip. It was very close to one of our Castle visits so we could walk there but also the town was quite quaint and charming with an old world feel but still had enough amenities as well; small bakery nearby for some morning coffee and pasteries, we could talk afternoon strolls through the town as it was very picturesque. The host of the property take great care of the grounds. Have a dog on site that is so cute and even some goats and chickens you can say hello to!
This is the most wonderful place to stay! Super charming, wonderful and helpful staff, and most spacious and comfortable rooms. There is parking and the gate closes at night for security. The restaurant is elegant and fine dining. This was one of the best dinners we had in France. The Auberge is walking distance to Chenonceau. We will only stay here for future visits!
Unbelievable romantic countryside hotel with 3 different buildings. We stayed at the mainhouse wing. Great food from own gardens and local farmers. Goo service too. Highly recommended as their Epicerie on the other side of the street!
The hotel was very nice located in a very small and quiet town. So if you like a quiet place to stay, away from the city, this is the place for you. The staff at the hotel was excellent. When they heard we were going on a hot air balloon at sunrise on a cool morning, they offered us jackets to use. In addition, we had a problem with our rental car and they helped us translate with the car repair service person who came to help us. They really went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one.
If I could, I would give the hotel ten stars for service. It was our best service experience during our trip. The staff (especially Natalie) went out of their way to anticipate and accommodate our wishes.
The dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent and filled with tasty surprises.
Also, this was one of the very few places in the Loire Valley with a full vegetarian menu.
Just perfect!
The property is very well located to visit the local and impressive chateau, as well as those in surrounding towns. Success over the years has clearly enabled the family owners to expand the property and so the hotel has prominent position in the centre of the village. Facilities are great (the pool and gardens are lovely), and the tasting menu in the restaurant was excellent (perhaps the best of our 3 week trip). Breakfast is disappointingly not included in the room rate and at 24EUR is expensive. We were also frustrated that the small buffet was being cleared while we were still eating and choosing items, which left us feeling uncomfortable. Overall, it is a lovely hotel, and a good base for the local area. Some of the staff did not seem very happy, which (we feel) could be felt in the service we received, and the cost of our stay was at the top end of what we paid throughout our trip which we didn't feel matched our experience.
