Cinque Terre National Park, Liguria hotel rooms at the Independent

"Wonderful reasonably priced hotel in the Cinque Terre region. Great directions provided to get to the hotel from the train station, but keep in mind that the 400 m distance also include a 100 m gain in elevation. If they are operating there are two elevators that can be used to lessen the climb. However, one was being reconstructed during our stay and the other one was out of service at times, so don't count on them. Our room was in the annex building, which is a bit way from the main hotel, and it came with a private outside seating area, which was terrific after a day of exploration. The breakfast served is terrific and not to be missed. "

"We have been to many hotels, but have never been so welcomed! We got a tour of the beautiful property, the room and genuinely felt they were excited to have us. We took advantage of the lovely outdoor seating areas, soaking in the ambience. The room was clean & comfortable, and met our needs. Breakfast was amazing! The best scrambled egss I have ever had. Would absolutely stay there again and recommend to others."

"This is a great hotel with perfect access to the Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore is undoubtedly the most charming of the five villages in the Cinque Terre. The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The hotel owners were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and had all we needed for a day of exploring the area. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to come back there with family and friends. "

"Amazing location with breathtaking views and a spectacular setting. Pictures do not do justice so if you are planning to do a visit to Cinque Terre you should choose this place. The crazy thing is that I read reviews about the drive, terrain and the remoteness so I had an idea of what to expect. What I envisioned was pretty darn accurate! Tight roads, steep cliffs, hairpin turns all while climbing and dropping to what id say one of the highest peaks within the rugged landscape. Plan to have a vehicle that can handle all of this along with a positive outlook and a love for adventure….because chances are, you will get lost. But don’t lose hope… Along the way between the freeway exit and Vernazza you’ll find a quaint stop named Bistrot PZ. Pop in and Rolando and staff will get you relaxed with a limoncello and will reassure your decision to stay at Locanda Valeria was one of the best decisions you made during your vacation. Once you arrive, you will be taken care of by a wonderful staff (including the Gatta) who is the ‘principessa’ of the grounds. Don’t overlook this location, it truly is a gem and if you are the type to refrain from sharing space with tons of tourists crowding your vibe, look no further and book it. Ciao 🇮🇹 "

"This is a beautiful former monastery high up above Monterosso. You need to contact the hotel in advance to make a shuttle reservation and they will pick you up near the train station. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar. Most of the other guests were hikers from the trail between towns. We sat outside at sunset with a glass of wine, admiring the beautiful view. While there’s no Wi-Fi or AC in the rooms in the main building, it was very comfortable, clean and quiet. There were large windows we opened to let in the breeze. We stayed with our college age kids who loved the location."
