"I chose this property due to location and listed amenities. Listed amenities include coffee shop/cafe, poolside bar, restaurant, coffee/tea in common areas, snack bar and deli. Unfortunately none of this is true- only coffee/tea during the breakfast buffet from 8 am-10 am. Poolside “bar” means a few tables on the rooftop terrace, there is no bar service. No restaurant, deli or cafe, just the breakfast set up for 2 hours. Overall amenities listed are very misleading. As a VIP member, we were to receive a bottle of sparkling wine. There was a bottle of white wine in the room, no corkscrew. None at the front desk either. Hubby had to go out looking to buy one, finally found a guy who said he would open it for him in one of the “colmados” nearby. Unfortunately the wine was oxidized and undrinkable. Front desk attendant asked us to bring him the bottle and it would be taken care of. We did but never received another bottle. Wifi was extremely slow and spotty. Warm water was also hard to come by, we reported it as well and did have hot water on checkout day. Room was clean (other than ants), bed and linens comfortable. Location great (close to malecon and historic center.) Staff was friendly, but not proactive. Definitely would choose a different place on our next visit to Santo Domingo. "

"We have stayed here many times but the service this time was disspointing. We were short towels in the room when we arrived. Then after a few attempts we gave up trying to get face towels. We had to ask the cleaning woman for coffee pods because we didn't get them when they cleaned the room. We went for breakfast and were the only ones in the restaurant. We waited 40 minutes for our food and only after my wife went to check did they bring it our cold. Clearly they forgot about it. I love the hotel but this stay was disspointing."
