Great hotel for short stay in Colombo. Good value for money. Rooms well appointed and beds comfortable. Close location to Galle Face Green and easy to get around the local area. Staff very friendly and provide great service. Very accommodating with special requests. Food was good quality and reasonable prices for a large hotel.

Great location, Just be careful of more expensive rooms that have adjoining rooms as only a door between you and your neighbours. No soundproofing means you hear every word.

Appreciate the staff. They were welcoming and very helpful during our staff. The man who cleaned our room was so kind and went the extra mile for us --- getting us a couple of extra chairs for our guest who came to our room and brought extra tea. Would stay there again!

Comfortable stay

The room was spacious. Neat and tidy. Bathroom was clean. Linen were good too. 2 big beds, a working table and a couch. Lots of storage space. The stay was quite comfortable. Walkable distance to Galle Face beach. We did not opt for the Breakfast choice while booking. Upon enquiring at the reception, we were told it costed 4K LKR per head, which we felt is pretty expensive.

Mixed experience with Ramada Colombo

I have had a mixed experience with Ramada. During my check-in, I was just handed a key. No one told me where the elevators are, where my luggage is, and how to get to my room. I must say that the room was very clean and I appreciate that. During breakfast, people should have access to drinking water, the toaster should be replaced, live stations should be able to better manage the queue. Another key issue we had was noise. Since the property is right on the street, the rooms should have better sound-proofing. Our sleep quality was significantly affected by car horns everyday and one day the other hotel across the street played music so loud from 7 am to 11 pm that we could feel the beats in our room. This was very distressing. I had/still have an issue with my Wyndham account. I talked to night shift Duty Manager who asked me to talk to Duty Manager during day time. I talked to him, he tried with my phone, and then asked me to email my issue. I emailed on 28 February, and yet to get any response. During check-out, I asked for a bill and the reception told me that they can't give me any bill as I booked through a third party website!!! Well, apart from these experience, I generally liked my stay. The location is great, the rooms are spacious and clean, housekeeping staff are courteous, breakfast is good. But the above issues should be addressed. I also would like to give a special shout out to Madhavi (I hope I spelled her name correctly)! She has been very helpful.

The room was fine and nothing negative to say, but the 4th floor where our room was (including our room of 418) stank of stale smoke. There is such a pungent smell of smoke that has seaped into the carpet and walls it's really unpleasant - our room was bad but the corridor was so bad we genuinely had to hold our nose/breath when coming out the room to go to the lift. Would not recommend

Everything was more or less up to the mark other than our dining experience. For dinner we ordered medium rare steak from the downstairs restaurant with buttered veggies and mashed potatoes. This is when things started to go downhill, the mashed came first, 10 mins later the veggies and 5 mins after that the steak. The steak was over cooked to the max, so much so that it was rubbery and not possible to cut. We had to send it back and at 1130 pm, with heavy rain outside, we had no other option other than to order from the same place again. This time we ordered the devilled fish and chicken, average and not the best. Not returning for sure.

The only issue with this hotel was that their wifi was terrible. Even their front office staff struggled to log into the wifi on our phones and we had to repeat the process every morning as we had been disconnected each morning.

The night manager was rude and not helpful at all. He charged us double and made sure to put us in a room at the extreme side of the hotel with 2 single beds despite having booked a king size bed and with the noisiest air conditioning ever. Do not stay at this place.
