"We went during the off season so it wasn't as busy. Everything from the room to the staff to the location was fantastic. If I were to nit-pick at something, it might be the selection of foods, ie the menu. I wished it had more options for local cuisines. It was nice that there were basics like pancakes and hamburgers, and some better yummies like curries and steak... but I really only saw 2 items that were considered local. Again, this is only if I were to look for something to complain about. :) The best naan I had ever eaten was here. It was amazing. Sooo good. I think I could have just eaten naan here and be happy. The room was comfortable - bed, air conditioning, TV, bathroom, and floor space. If you wanted to sit down, it was on the patio. We brought a chair inside to sit not on the bed. The staff made the resort welcoming. A ready smile and joke. The beach was gorgeous. Don't forget your sunblock. Yikes. They gave us a scoop of soothing lotion for our burns. It smelled wonderful. As you walk on the beach, locals may approach you to offer massages and horseback riding. The cost is much cheaper than the resort, according to another patron we talked with. But I went with the resort massage and left happy. One note: We reserved the Ocean View Bure. It just meant that if we walked outside and turned right, we can see the ocean. If you want to see the ocean from your room, it's the beachfront bure. Mis-leading and disappointing, but we let it go and enjoyed. "

"Pros: Lovely staff. Gorgeous grounds, constantly being maintained by the groundskeepers. Good restaurants. Great location and easy to get around. Very clean guest bathrooms. Cons: The deal we booked was different to what we were offered though. (Limits on the use of resort credit contradicted the offer we booked, plus there wasn't daily Mindflight voucher as told when booking, but once per visit for one person, plus a large unnecessary pre-authorisation on card that wasn't advertised when booking and will now take 1-2 weeks to get back). More chairs/umbrellas are needed around the pool areas. Drain fly larvae wiggling around in the shower which freaked out the kids. A guest laundry would be an amazing addition for travelling families!"

"We had a great stay at the Shangri La resort. The staff were very friendly and eager to accommodate. The resort is showing it's age a bit but overall provided everything we needed. The snorkeling was amazing right off the beach. The lounge chairs at the beach and pool were in bad need of an upgrade. But the beach and snorkeling made up for it. The resort is great for families or if you prefer the adults only section was great as well. The food was good and I would recommend eating at the Black Marlin steak house, the rib steak we shared was fabulous there. If I went to Fiji again I would not go in March as we found the humidity a bit overwhelming. I would highly recommend a massage at the hotel spa and my husband enjoyed playing golf. I wish we had been able to see some sights off the resort but the humidity kept us at the beach and resort. We met some great people and overall had a fantastic time. "
