“We arrived at the property later than we had planned due to driving from Matera and exploring the Royal Palace nearby. The owners were extremely helpful - making space for us to park our (massive) rental car, helping us with the bags and showing us to our room. They even made sure they were available earlier than normal for our check out which was around 7am as we were heading for the airport. We also had a nice evening meal (especially the desserts - lemon sponge and the tirimasu were great)....

“The Grand Hotel Telese looks the part. An old grande dame of a hotel with lovely entrance and great hall. It was good for kids, lovely pool and the receptionist was warm and friendly. The rooms were fine and clean. Dinner let it down badly. There's only one place to eat on site, and no one was around to take our order, despite having booked a time and it being quiet. When the food came, it was bland and missing ingredients you'd expect from the dish as described on the menu. When we raised it...
