“We were so impressed by the kindness and flexibility during our stay. They accommodated an early check-in, had all of our luggage from our previous hotel waiting in our room, and even included thoughtful touches (handwritten welcome note). The hospitality was exceptional and made this one of our favorite travel experiences. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!”

“This is only sort of kind of the whole property, Kyoto has very strict tax laws and needs to have a front desk and therefore part of the property is that, additionally the upper floors are inhabited, but none of that matters really because of how wonderful the people and the space are.”

“Upea pieni Luxury/boutiquehotelli, jossa koko asunto samassa!

“I loved how authentic the experience felt and looked, curated by such amazing and sweet souls. ”

“The staff here is outstanding! The room was cozy and romantic and the location was perfect!”

“.”

“Shared bathroom was not a problem at all but the fact that the bathrooms are not in the guestrooms was a bit inconvenient. But excellent services by the staff who make you feel at home and the fact that this actually was a home (to a member of Japanese royal family) gives it a truly unique experience.”

“Lovely place to stay in an area of Kyoto that’s close to a few large, beautiful shrines. Really great room complemented by a wonderful, helpful staff. Would love to stay here again!”
