Must say I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is beautiful and everyone that works there are wonderful people. However, my only complaint is the room above ours (our room number was 405) were loud at night and early in the morning. It felt like they were moving furnitures around, talking loudly, and were constantly stomping while waking. I must say there were kids staying above us, so can’t complain much either.
But overall had an amazing experience.
We were looking for a property that was traditional but was maintained to a high level and was luxurious, and this ticked every box. Absolutely loved our stay here.
The hotel was excellent! The property including rooms were very clean, the staff were great, the check-in process was excellent. Food and drinks were more expensive than other hotels but the food quality and services were good.
Well it was as always indeed a very nice stay..
The only issue I think need to be addressed by the hotel management is the condition of the mattresses as they have sagged around the pillow / neck area till waist due to over usage maybe, we had to literally sleep the by keeping pillows on the other side
Rest is all fine
Beautiful property with attention to every detail. Rooms are little small but cosy and comfortable. The property itself is self sufficient to spend few lazy days to relax and rejuvenate. Child friendly so lot of play areas and safe. Lot of area to sit and spend time on your own, may be listening to music or read a book.
This is by far one of the best properties that I have stayed in till now.. has an amazing ambience and the rooms are also superb. The staff is unbelievably courteous. The location is very close to Mall road which is the key spot in Darjeeling. Though it's a little expensive.l, but worth it. The food is also fantastic. Do opt for complementary breakfast. You will surely enjoy. Would definitely recommend and even I would want to revisit again.
The food was sub-standard--we tried out dinner which was really disappointing .We couldnt have a morsel of our dinner but they charged .The Manager Mr. Bhuman ..cant recall ....did apoloize but we paid for it.
I had stayed in their BBSR, Rourkela and Puri properties --their food is really good.
The food/dining is gross. Raw fish served and the chef needs to go. Service was hit or miss, not very hospitable. For the prices they ask at the restaurant it is a total scam. They know you are trapped so the charge a lot for cabs, and aren’t very nice. Also the spa was terrible. First thing the male masseuse did was burn the ** out of my feet and then give a massage that was terrible. The place looks like it was decorated by a maximalist grandma. Will stay somewhere else next time.

Horrendous experience for a solo woman traveller!!
My room faced Darjeeling’s largest construction site. The room was dingy depressing and dark due to buildings opposite under construction. Together with noise, heavy lorries, men working and crashing and banging, fumes from vehicles etc this stay was an expensive nightmare. £380 for 3 nights!! Do not stay in any room named “Anderson”. Management couldn’t understand what the problem was!! Very upsetting indeed.

Service is horrible, and the room provided did not match with my purchase. The room had no view, and a construction building was next to it. The pictures provided by Expedia and their website are all wrong because, as they mentioned in the reception, only the suit room has a view and the rest do not. I requested an upgrade and agreed to pay more, but the reception staff was horrible and non-cooperative. The attitude of the ladies working in the reception is really something, and I will never recommend such a hotel for friends and family vacations.
Room service was terrible - they did not provide the required things. I booked a room for three, so they were supposed to provide for three people. I did not accept an extra bed. They did not provide towels, cups, or other for three people. Every day I had to call and ask for towels, cups, and extra coffee packets.
The only exception was food because the dining and food quality was good.
I would not recommend anyone to stay in Mayfair Darjeeling.
Honestly, there are multiple hotels around better than Mayfair.
Sehr gute Anlage, vielfältiges Buffet und Frühstück. Sehr aufmerksames, hochprofessionelles Personal. Bei gutem Wetter hervorragendende Sicht. Nur 500m zum Zentrum (das ist nicht der Bahnhof).
There was lot of sound from outside

There is no doubt that this is the most amazing place to stay but after spending so much, we were assigned a very sad room . Renovation was going on so whole night the building construction work was going on which was disturbing.
Staff are nice but more laid back than most places. But they remember guests and try to personalize the experience. The property is a good place to relax after a busy day.
