Amazing hotel full of antiques and curios. Our room had a four poster bed and a lovely modern shower room. Breakfast was extra (£15) but was huge with toast, cereals, tea and juice. Attached to the hotel is a splendid bar serving cask beers - what more could you want? It's a 10-15 minute walk into the city and all the attractions, and the hotel car park is free!

This is the second time we've stayed here. We will definitely stay again. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely and full of amazing ornaments and pictures. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast, it was all delicious.

Great stay

Staff were fantastic so so friendly. Room was lovely bed comfortable only thing was we had the most thinnest of pillows and the plumbing made a noise for quite a while.

The place was very well positioned and the staff were lovely. The beer garden and the pizzas were fantastic. However, the whole place (except the bathroom) needs renovation - it's very dark with old furniture. Also no hairdryer to be found although we probably should have asked for one

15 minute walk to centre. Staff friendly and welco

Nice hotel close to centre. Lots of antique furniture which we love. Free parking which is by the beer garden. nice to have a drink outside. Bed comfortable good size room . Staff lovely especially young man on reception. Will return.,

Great double room

Great location. The double room with bath was very good, beautiful, big and cosy. The staff was very nice. I didn´t try their fried breakfast because there were no gluten free options. Only to say that the traffic from the main road was very loud in the room.

As I was only visiting friend I didn't really stay in the hotla that long except to sleep and have breakfast. But all told it was a good stay.

Nice little niche hotel off the main road. Has its own designated parking and limited EV chargers. You have your own kettle to make tea/coffee in your own room. Bar and restaurant attached so food and drinks are minutes away. If you are a light sleeper just be aware if you are near the road you can hear the cars all night so maybe bring someear plugs. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

This is a lovely quirky historic pub / hotel. If you want modern trendy, contemporary or minimalist; then this is not the place for you. We liked it. No breakfast, but we knew that. Cafe down the road and city centre not far away.

Very friendly check in. Old building, hence old windows and shower in ensuite. Excellent bed, short walk to the city centre, nice neighbourhood. On site bar/restaurant. Tea/coffee station in room. Big tv. Great towels. Good value.

Overnight stay on business

One night stay in this period property. Callum very friendly as head of house with his talented brother as chef. Food was very nice bar well stocked. Our Room was clean & comfortable with a en-suite toilet & shower it was overlooking the car park as asked for quieter room than one in the front with the noisy traffic as on a main road in & out. Definitely stay again & hope to meet the rest of the family. We’ll bring a few bottles of Rattler for you next time 😆

Friendly but wouldn't stay longer than a weekend.

The staff were very nice and helpful. Some of the room were difficult to find. We had 3 room and the bathroom sizes were very different one was very small.

We booked for one night, 2 double rooms, we were attending our daughter’s graduation at Ntu. A really nice tradition hotel with a fantastic pub. Safe really friendly. Only a 18 min walk into centre of Derby. The rooms were quaint and the four poster bed looked beautiful but very creaky! The bathroom was clean. We checked out early so didn’t sample breakfast as breakfast wasn’t until 9!! No hairdryers. Yes we would stay again.

Nice room, bathroom could do with a shelf, I was balancing things on and in the sink. 3 lamps in room but no bulbs. Struggled to close secondary glazing window so was very noisy at night from traffic and people. Had to move TV to plug kettle in and due to bed being in way of screen. Shocked to find we had to pay £15 each for breakfast, no choice of size, too much for me to eat, took most of it home with me (I don't like waste) cereal, orange juice, full English, with or without toast, tea or coffee. Would've preferred a choice of small or large breakfast. We only booked 1 night so wouldn't have paid for breakfast if staying longer. Nice friendly staff, lovely beer garden....
