No matter where you’re coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you’re well organized. Follow these handy hints that will help get your Vilnius vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you take the right things. First things first, you’ll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between air carriers, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, knives, fuel and fireworks. Sporting equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your prime concern when selecting what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear with care too, as swollen feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy are always a smart option.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a pair of compression tights or socks can also help.
