"Great staying experience. Staff provides very good service. Every staff I interacted with spoke good English. The indoor and outdoor onsen make our experience even better. Food is good quality though a little expensive. Overall, it’s worth the money spent. "

"The condominium rooms are very nice. The personal hot spring tub in the room was great. The room was quite large by Japan standards. The overall condition of the property was excellent, with lots of fun communal spaces like public and private onsens, a library, and a kids area. The free beer and sodas at various times of the day were a nice touch. The dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent. It is a few minute walk from 2 train stations and the open air museum. Highly recommended. "

"My dad and I are visiting from China, and this is my first time in Japan —lHakone. From the moment we arrived at Mikawaya, everything exceeded our expectations. We were delighted to experience such authentic Japanese cuisine. The service was thoughtful and attentive. We’re already looking forward to coming back — and when we do, Mikawaya will definitely be part of our trip again. 10/10 experience!!"

"Amazing dinner in the hotel restaurant. The Wagyu beef was melt in your mouth fantastic. Great wine. The private onsen was perfect and so relaxing at the end of the night. Super comfortable bed and spacious room. Wish I had booked two nights. My only complaint is the coffee in the room is more espresso style and I love a big hearty cup of coffee in the morning. The hotel doesn’t offer coffee in the lobby which is a bummer. We didn’t add breakfast just because we don’t usually do breakfast. Great hotel, would definitely stay here again. "
