“Arrived on Friday afternoon and received excellent reception from the front desk.there was no toilet spray or any odour controlling mechanism in the bathroom room.left the room at 5am and came back at 12:30 pm.the room was cleaned but without towels,they were only replaced around 13:00.had an issue the aircon that sounded like a petrol fuelled generator which was attended to immediately.”

“Many years ago, before the infamous conflagration that destroyed part of the hotel, I stayed there. Also, every Sunday, my family and I would indulge in tea/coffee with fresh scones, cream and strawberry jam. The bar, then, was most charming. “This beautiful hotel is very grand and is still very classy. It is showing its age however, but we still had a wonderful experience, with my husband celebrating his birthday at dinner where the staff made his night very special. “With out doubt one of the best holidays ever. Fantastic place, people and service. Could not fault anything. If you want a South African Experience then Mafigeni is the place. So many things to do and see in the immediate area including Kruger National Park. Self drive or guided if it's you first time you will not be dissapointed. “There was a bath without a screen instead of a shower. A large dead cockroach in the bathroom. Lights outside the bedroom window that were not switched off. Naked, exposed wiring where the switch for the bedside lamp should be ( I could have electrocuted myself reaching for the switch at night!). Very noisy water pipes from 3am. The bed was clean and comfortable but the roach had spoiled it all.”

“The only reason I'm giving this place 4* is because the road leading down is gravel and not bery well maintained. The cabin itself is a paradise! The pond is beautiful, the ducks friendly, and the fast moving creek sounds lull you to sleep. I was very pleasantly surprised at how stocked the kitchen was with cooking supplies. The staff was friendly and the whole property is well maintained. ”

“It is a very friendly environment but not worth what I paid. The triple room is like an old granny house, the linen not even the right sizes for the beds, towels not that clean, no bathfoams etc sachet, wardrobe has only 4 hangers, no drinking water supplied, no glasses. Just cups, tea/coffee sachet supplied with very cheap plastic spoons. It was too cold and the aircon was disfuctioning, No enough plugs for cellphone chargers and other electronics.
