Great experience. Location is great. Quiet and warm atmosphere. Dinner was well prepared. You have to sit down on tatami for dinner, but low chairs available. After meals, we were invited to the meditation. Morning service at 6:30 was a great way to start the day. Very nice atmosphere and it is run well. I do highly recommend.

This is a must place to visit/stay when you are around Osaka. 2 hr drive from Osaka but definitely worth the trip! Superb staff and management! Super clean and comfortable in every sense! Includes private dining for both breakfast and dinner. Dinner is served as multi-course meal - which was AWESOME! Private natural hot springs bath overlooking the ocean (ocean is literally few steps from the room). Great golf courses nearby as well. You will be glad you had a chance to stay here!

I thought a shukubo would be a very simple minimalist accommodation but it was a luxurious stay. A pleasant surprise. Great staff and service, beautiful gardens, wonderful shojin meals, relaxing bath after our long hike, and a morning service in the main hall. It was a perfect experience

I loved the hot springs, was said it was one of the oldest in Shirahama. Boss lady was a great person, and she served with her heart to make sure everything was fine. Food was absolutely delicious! The fishes were all fresh caught by boss lady’s husband every day. All their vegetables were from their organic farm. The view from Boukai was amazing, very close to Beach. I highly recommend this guest house, made me feel like home vacation.

For a truly historic and immersive stay this Temple is perfect. Near all the most significant sites in Koyasan.

Beautiful hotel, the monks attending are really nice, definitely go to the morning ceremony, it is worth it. This is near everything and very centric to all the landmarks nearby. The "beds" are pretty hard since its traditional, but its manageable for a night or two. Meals were really good, definitely don't skip them and take the chance to eat traditional monk meals.

The monks were very friendly and helpful and everything was well coordinated so you knew what to expect. We really enjoyed our stay and wish to have been able to stay longer.

This guesthouse was clean, modern . It had two rooms of tatami bedrooms with tv. There is a living room which has comfortable couches that can be converted into a bed. Nice kitchen, shower, washer. Very clean. Communication with the owner was excellent.

The private bath was superb! We experience quite a few private and public baths in Japan, and this was our favorite.

Clean room and fast internet.

Some of the other tourists were disrespectfully loud. There are locking coin laundry machines on site. Water bottle filling machine and very close to a Family Mart. The entire town is friendly and proud of their community.

Simply beautiful. The onsen was so wonderful and the community onsen was even better. The staff were absolute professionals and went above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast and dinner were as we expected. I really liked their tempura but i loved the sashimi. My partner loved the beer dispenser:) We feel a got the best deal!

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay. It was much nicer than I had expected and with the included breakfast buffet that had so many choices from something western to eating like a Japanese person would with local fruits and dishes. The room was comfortable and clean and with a castle view... highly recommended. There were nice restaurants in the building and we were close to many things including a bus stop to get around if taxis aren't in your budget. Wakayama city is a very different...
