COVID-19 has changed the way we travel, but it hasn't shut down our eagerness for exploring. Here are some tips on how to handle travel's new challenges:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in a flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as health testing.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it for identification purposes. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Instead, position your pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for screening.
• Empty your personal items from your pocket, such as your phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
