"The room was clean. Free parking which was great. Could do with a bit of TLC with paintwork etc however the staff was brilliant and did everything they could to make us welcome and enjoy our stay. Think his name was Darren. Couldn’t have helped enough if he tried. We will definitely be back for another stay. It was the right price for the right stay. In fact I’d say it was good value for what we got."

"Great hotel, staff were outstanding at going out the way to help even at the late hours of the night. I made use of the pool which overall was good however very busy even at first hours of pool opening. If I was to be really picky about my stay it would be the dust on the fan, as it’s coming to that time of year again (warmer weather) I actually had to use mine but it was quite dusty so they could have done with a wee clean especially with hay-fever and asthma it’s not gonna be the best. But apart from that I’d happily stay again."

"Nice hotel but getting a bit dated. Decor is old fashioned and showing signs of wear. Staff are very pleasant and helpful though and food is usually quite good. Breakfast choice was OK although serial was just boxes, no granola or dried fruit etc which is a little disappointing as I like to alternate the usual Bacon and eggs with a healthy choice from time to time."

"The Moorings is our "go to" every time we visit Scotland. It is convenient to the train station and easy to get to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and anywhere in the country. The rooms are always very clean and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The food is fabulous, whether a full Scottish breaky, or soup and sandwich for lunch or a gourmet meal for dinner. We also love to hang out in the bar and have friends from the area meet us for a few drinks in the evening with our favorite bartender, Krystoph."
