"Lovely place to stay and ideal if visiting the emporium for the night. The only real negative was the booking said 12pm kick out on the Sunday morning. This was one big reason for booking, but a very rude awakening at 11:20 by a bang on the door by the cleaners and being told we should have left at 11. Sadly the attitude I recieved when I said I’m booked till 12 wasn’t good and no apologies when I grabbed my phone to prove it, just “oh well be as quick as you can as we finish at 12”. Such a small thing that ruined a nice stay."

"The spa was relaxing, rooms great but certain areas do need a little tlc they look very worn and tired, food was excellent, very healthy but tasty staff are excellent so helpfull , the treatment area is definitely worth going to, excellent treatments "

"Bathroom was poor with outdated bath and shower which was dangerous to use. The group booking for 9 people did not seem to exist. Very poor internal communication. The bedroom doors were not soft close and banged all night as people went to their rooms. We were refused entry to the dining area at 7.00 pm as we hadn't booked never having being informed of such a procedure at reception. Finally two days before we were due to arrive we were informed that our booking made on Jan 23rd nearly 2 months prior was cancelled due to overbooking!! After several phonecalls to the hotel we finally got our booking reinstated. What a stressful experience for an 82 year old alumni of the University attending our 63rd reunion (Rutherford Hall block 5 ,1963) "

"Hotel is in nice surroundings and the room was large and comfortable. Easy parking aswell. Good value "

"This is a good place for a stopover. Parking outside the room is very convenient. The food in the pub is good, especially the breakfasts."

"Yes and Yes. 1 point. As an older person, my head is dropping to bits. I have a single tooth denture. Such thing is quite small. I tend to brush it under a running tap. Had I done this, there would have been a severe danger of it disappearing down the plughole and lost for ever (Cost £250). Because the plug mechanism is missing which leaves the drain hole completely open! (Room 5)."

"The place was perfect for our needs as a family of four for a few nights. Everything we needed for light meals were provided. We found great local places for breakfast and dinner."

"Very convenient location. Staff was great, and room very clean. The only downside was that as it is a pub, it was quite noisy just outside of my room when I actually wanted an early night. I imagine that having an upstairs room would have solved that, but I eventually managed to sleep anyway!"
