We really enjoyed our short stay at Villa Carmen. The location, village, and facilities at the accommodation made it a great holiday. most important was the service and the smile. We want to thank the family who run the villa for their hospitality and kindness. We also heard about the boat excursion run by their related company and took a wonderful day trip to 3 local islands.
Excellent situation for Dubrovnik or for beaches. Small pool but good. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment but all looked good. Carmen and Doris very skilled in looking after guests.
We stayed at Villa Carmen for one night at the end of our trip.Great choice for the last night in Croatia. The hosts were lovely!Thank you Carmen and Doris! You have a lovely place.

Amazing view from the terrace and wonderful hospitality. Not the most modern rooms and breakfast was rather pricy. Also, don't forget that you can only pay cash, they don't take credit cards.

Location is fantastic! Area is quiet.
Location is perfect, close to the beach and supermarket. Both Carmen and Doris are very welcoming and communication is very quick and easy. The room itself is basic and clean.

Perfect place in a nice suite with great sea view
Perfect place for senior tourists and couples for a longer stay in the Dubrovnik area. We came with two small children (4 and 1 year old) and felt a bit strange since we had to pay an extra fee for the kitchen usage during our stay (since our original room was overbooked we received an upgrade to a Suite). They room was clean and nice with great large balcony and fabulous view on the sea. Breakfast was good but nothing special. The family sisters running the Villa Carmen were helpful during our stay.
We had a lovely stay at the Villa Carmen. Carmen herself is a very friendly and helpful person, as is her sister Doris. The location of the Villa Carmen is fantastic, as it is so close to the beach, as well as being close to the harbour, so you can easily get to Dubrovnik, Cavtat and Lokrum.
Our room was really clean and tidy with a wonderful terrace overlooking the bay.
There is a small supermarket and also a larger shopping centre all within walking distance, as well as a few bars and restaurants.
Carmen herself has a restaurant two doors along from the Villa Carmen, which serves lovely food with a great view of the bay. She also runs a travel company called Vivado, so you can arrange tours and boat trips etc with her, without having to wait at the port.
Everyone we came across was incredibly friendly and helpful and the weather was great(14th - 21st October) so this just topped off a wonderful holiday!
The Villa Carmen and the owners are so nice and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend booking direct with Villa Carmen. Do not book through Expedia!

Toimiva majoitus!
Sänky olisi uusimisen tarpeessa. Muuten ihan mukava huone. Loistavat näkymät huoneen isolta terassilta uima-altaalle ja merelle. Omistajat auttavaisia.
The location is fantastic, you can get an Uber to either Dubrovnik or Cavtat in 10-15 minutes. The 'apartment' is about 30 seconds walk to the nearest pebble beach - lovely small cove. Local restaurants are really nice also, food is very good but prices are still in line with what you expect to pay at other two locations.
The rooms, they were rather dire - The room we had was dark, tiny and very dated. The bathroom was at the back of the room, it had a shower curtain which was far too long and just laid in the tray, a toilet and a sink. Hot water tank needed to be switched on for hot water - barely got 2 short showers out of the tank. Luckily we had one suitcase between us, because if we had two, not sure where we would have put it. There was a massive fridge - which was great for storing water - but since there were no other self catering equipment, not sure what else you could use it for. (Not even a plate or a knife/fork).
Also, I suggest bringing your own towel. The towels provided were from 1960 and you needed to be quite strong to bend them round you and they were extremely rough.
All in all, the fantastic location and pool is let down by the poor accommodation. The facilities are more in line with a hostel as oppose to holiday accommodation. In fact some south american hostels I've stayed in were more appealing.
If you want a decent location for a couple of days, this would be ok - any longer, then try somewhere else.
Nice quiet location, near beach and close to town.
Villa Carmen is a great place, near Dubrovnik and offers pretty much everything one desires. Pool, excellent free WiFi, parking (not free), breakfast, nice bed, lots of channels on TV, and most rooms with some type of ocean view. They also run a fine restaurant next door, which is a better bargain than similar ones down the street. Just skip the Parmesan monk fish medallions. Mostly bone. Hotel is easy to find and there are numerous shopping areas in walking distance. The area is quiet and nice for relaxing. The boat dock is 10 minutes walk and they offer departures to Dubrovnik (and other sites) nearly every hour. Be sure and ask the boat captain on return times as the schedule is not always accurate. All in all a great stay. Croatia is beautiful country, with lots of history and everyone is extremely helpful and warm. Especially Carmen and Doris! They exemplify the Croatian & Mediterranean hospitality, friendliness and spirit.
We had a lovely stay at Villa Carmen. Couldn't have wished for a more friendly and helpful host or hosts as 2 adorable sisters run the accommodation and restaurant next door but one. You should be aware that there are a few steps from the accommodation down to the beach. We loved everything about the room and resort we are planning on going back. Lots of restaurants, hotels, bars, a couple of supermarkets and a shopping precinct to go to. There are lots of beaches to go to within walking distance of each other. Pebbly beaches and beautiful clear water. Did rain a few times but still very warm and it didn't last long. We found that a car wasn't necessary as there are water taxis to different areas and excursions available. The beaches were immaculate with changing facilities and showers actually on the beach. Shopping and eating out seemed reasonable. We loved everything about villa Carmen.
Carmen is a very friendly and lovely person. The location is perfect since just in front of one of the direct beach access.
Also, the close by Marinero restaurant (also belonging to the familly) offers a great view on the sea and the food is just great.
Great location very close to beach and restaurants within easy reach of Dubrovnik old town (30 mins by boat). There is an excellent restaurant next door Marinero, run by the same people. Room facilities were good, better than advertised, with fridge and air conditioning. We had room B1 and my parents were in C2. There were 4 of us in B1 and it was a little cramped but ok for 3 nights. C2 (on 3rd level) is a fantastic room though, with a kitchenette and wonderful views!
The owners were very sweet. Beautiful hotel outside of Dubrovnik. Not much to to in the town but boat access to Dubrovnik city is easy enough, takes about 1/2hr.
