Best Western Plus West Retford Hotel

8/10 Good

"The welcome at reception was warm, and the hotel clean and tidy. I had two problems. The TV volume was restricted and too quiet for our comfort. Reception said maintenance would deal with it, but they didn't. However, the room next door seemed to have no restriction, as we could hear their TV better than our own! It was irritating and felt rather insulting. The second issue was the height of the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, which was obviously fitted by a very tall person, as it was of no use to me as a short person! The hotel was quiet and well positioned to explore the area."

"This hotel is great for the location to the cathedral but i am afraid this the breakfast was the only great thing about it. All the staff we encountered were lovely but this hotel is tired and run down. We had a deluxe room but there was nothing deluxe about it apart from a balcony with a view but the balcony was dirty and there was no chairs to sit out on. The carpets were vile and there were cobwebs inside the balcony doors and vents. The bath panel was broken and we had to push it back in place when we first entered the room. Such a shame this place could be amazingly."

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed for one night to meet friends on the waterfront. Perfect location for the eateries there and easy access to the high street too. Parking is a little limited at peak times but there’s a multi storey next door. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was really good too with lots of choice, although the coffee wasn’t great. The room was spacious and clean and perfect for what we needed it for. Will stay again if we’re in the area."
