“A really nice backpackers hostel. The rooms were well put together and warm during the winter. Lots of space in the kitchen and lounge and bathrooms are being renovated. Staff were really helpful and hospitable - I'd stay here again, for sure. One of the most comfortable places I have stayed on my trip through NZ.”

“AMAZING! The Castle was set up beautifully for our family and made us feel very welcome. Unexpected “above and beyond service” with treats, as well as hot water bottles and electric blankets to keep warm at night. Bathrooms, kitchen, and property were clean. There was a storm with pouring rain all night and the canvas tent felt safe, while also keeping everything dry. Would highly recommend staying in their canvas tent overlooking the ocean. “I booked this hotel because Awaroa hut was fully booked. But it is really good choice to book Peppers Awaroa Hotel. It was last day of my Abel Tasman trekking, so I was too exhausted. When I see the Peppers Awaroa sign, I was too glad and the Hotel was really really good. The food is a little expensive than Nelson, but good quality. Everybody in hotel was warm, kind.
