Farm with horses and cows. Remote and quiet location. There is one really bright outdoor light, but otherwise a great spot for viewing the aurora and taking pictures of horses.

The room, house, bathroom, and the dining room was fairly clean! The check in process was very easy! The host was very communicative! One of the rooms were cold and the host immediately switched us to a different room. The bathroom is shared , you don’t hava a private bathroom.

Small room, but good kitchen facilities. Location about 6km from Circular Road (1), near a canyon at the end of the Joküsla River. about 20min drive from Egilsstadir.

This is a guesthouse/hostel. The bathroom is shared and there are padlocks on the bedroom doors. It is not as advertised and we immediately left and booked another accommodation after finding people who were sleeping in their cars who had access to the house.

Nice homestead but there was no mention of shared facilities (ie a single toilet & shower) to accommodate the entire house when booking. Other guests decided to fry up some fish late at night and the smell permeated into the bedroom, very unpleasant but guess we cant fault the host for this. Our bedroom was right next to the shared bathroom and soundproofing was limited! Bedding was clean but found a random sock and some other bits which implies a surface clean only between guests. Drinking water was absolutely awful, tasted very metallic and had a brownish tinge to it. Cheaper than other places so guess you get what you pay for - we booked for two nights but moved on after one.

Overall felt unclean and misled The property details omitted the fact that it had a communal bathroom for 4 rooms for up to 16 people. We ended up sharing 1 single bathroom with 3 other families. All were surprised. Having knowledge of this is critical for families with young children. On the listing, only the kitchen was disclosed as communal. Additionally, the trash outside was overflowing and the bathroom window was left ajar leading to many flies in the property.
