It's well maintained even though they usually short on towels, the ice machine sometimes is down and they keep the comunity microwave in the main office. For the most part I always have a quiet and comfortable stay each visit.
very shady crowd outside the rooms. room doors didn't shut all the way and you could see daylight all around the door frame. i didn't feel safe staying there with my family.
I loved the staff, very friendly and helpful. I liked that it was pet friendly and everyone kept the area clean of pet waste. Room was clean and staff checked in regularly to make sure I had clean towels and housekeeping.
We only stayed one night but it was comfortable and clean

Easy to find and check in. We didn't have all the towels we needed when we got to our room, and it took a little while to get them. We did discover a bed bug, which put a big damper on the rest of our stay. The staff was ok. We woudn't stay here again if we had other options but maybe if we have to stay there again the experience would be better.
Motel 6 is Motel 6 and i never really expect much. However this one falls below an already low bar. Staff really nice, but that's about it. Please do your research before coming. El cajon is in San Diego County but it definitely ain't San Diego lol. Not suggested for Families, Solo Travelers just looking for somewhere to crash, Go for it.
.
Rooms clean, shady people around and some people live there, people working on cars, bed so old they are dented and coils hurt, thin walls and you can hear everything, room numbers not in order. It was very noisey. If you need cheap and dont mind comfort and are willing to deal with poor conditions.

Not horrible, but if you can afford the extra $50 to stay somewhere better. Do it. Very basic hotel. Room was clean but it felt dirty for some reason. Old hotel. No toiletries other than hand soap. One towel, which had a long hair on it. No hand towels. I went to the front desk and they gave me, in his words. Their last towel. It was clean and he gave me a hand towel. Shower was good though. Water was super hot. No complaints there. Hotel was fine for the night, but I wont be back. I only stayed here because it was cheap, i was only showering, sleeping and checking out the next day. nice photos on the website. But they dont match actual location. A couple of positives. It is located right off freeway and everything is close by. Slept fine, quiet outside.
I didn't use the laundry facility. I didn't feel safe. Not only is this property a hotel, but it's an extended stay facility, which is fine but I wish I had know before booking. I booked 2 rooms, 159 & 161. Room 161 was not ready for occupancy at 3, it was after 4 that I finally got into my room, and it had a strong order of vinegar. Room 159, had some serious problems. The toilet backed up 2 times and had to be unclogged. The sink in the bathroom was very unstable, loose and I felt it would fall off the wall at any moment. The telephone didn't work, and the A/C was barely adequate and was unable to read the control instructions. There wasn't any table or chair to put food on to eat. The mattress were very old and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most was the noise and the overwhelming smell of Marijuana. I understand it's legal, but this was a non-smoking rooms and after being out for the day coming back it was disgusting. The people hanging around outside were questionable, especially since there was a mental health facility across the street. I traveled with my daughter and 2 disabled grandkids, we made sure we were in the rooms before dark. But, the staff was friendly.

If you can afford to spend a little more, you may want to consider staying somewhere else. However, I could tell that the staff were making a genuine effort to maintain the property, and I appreciate their efforts.

It’s a fine stay for a few days. Probably wouldn’t stay longer than that. The staff is really friendly.
