"Amazing beautiful location but unfortunately the house did not live up to expectations, especially considering the price. The house was damp and smelt strongly of damp. Some of the walls were very damp with bubbling of the paint and mould. There was mould around the bathroom plug and around the edge of the shower. Hollins Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf

"Superb hotel in wonderful location handy for local amenities. Did not use spa facilities which looked good. Somewhat confusing concept - hotel had lovely frontage with outdoor seating area but bars etc were closed so not able enjoy snacks, drinks etc at the front. Maybe the available facilities at the front were opened for weddings only. Although a large significant hotel the only facilities available were a small bar/restaurant a good trek away at the rear in the golf area. Outdoor seating with no views surrounded by golf buggy/trolley parking. Food was not impressive. Overall impression was that unless golfers or event guests residents were a nuisance and although claiming to be dog friendly were merely accepting of dogs with uncomfortable coffee table type areas only available for dining. Staff were polite but rarely friendly and rooms were not made up daily. Enjoy your wedding or golf here certainly but otherwise a normal passing business trade venue at its best."

"Have booked the victoria before , the family room, used to hear good reviews, but they appear to be islamaphobic. They charged me extra £50 deposit which was never the case pre-election. Also, my internet had stopped working nor did they include breakfast. Moreover, they tried taking an £20 deposit despite agreeing prior that they wouldnt charge extra if we checked out at 12pm. Let us see if they return the deposit. Also the floor was really filthy in the family room, it needed hovering. There was not even a safe avaialble."

"An impressive older hotel with beautiful staircases. Helpful staff. Well located. Large standard room with spotless bathroom. Reasonably priced. Breakfast on first morning was the best. However, second morning was buffet style with the food not as hot as one would expect. A very nice stay in Bradford."

"Small room but perfect for what we needed for one stay following a trip to watch footie in Burnley. The lady on breakfast service was very kind and friendly and we all enjoyed the breakfast - would stay again and great we could bring the dog too"

"Room size are congested where other hotels in same category and less price give you with big size room. beds are too small , I wouldn't say its good enough size for 2 persons to sleep, really disappointed. staff are not really welcoming. there is no hotel parking but next to it parking place which give you 24 hours parking for £10. I would rather stay somewhere else there are plenty near to the town, £1.50 parking for 24 hours, with free breakfast and less price"

"This would have once been a beautiful little family run hotel I imagine. However walking through the door we immediately realised it had not been cared for or well maintained for likely a number of years. Dark, very dated, no visible staff and when we found one they were in a tracksuit and felt like I had walked into their lounge. It felt dead, the bedrooms were dated and dusty with paint peeling and equipment straight from the 80's / 90's. Bedding was clean and location is ideal for places like Howarth or Salts Mill. But that is really where the compliments end sadly."
