"This was our first stay at The Tides and we will be back when visiting the Laguna Beach area. I came to do my first open ocean swim with the LGOWS group at Shaw's Cove. I chose The TIdes because of its proximity to this beach and the price value. My husband and I were smitten. The room was cozy and cute, with country-style furniture and a very comfy bed. The hand-picked welcome gifts brought a smile and warmed our hearts. This takes effort from the staff and it was appreciated. When we come back to Laguna, we will surely stay again."

"There was no beach view from my room but the hotel yes. I was placed in an annex not the main hotel. The annex had a weird configuration. Only the valet/maintenance staff that I interacted were amazing. They made parking tolerable in an otherwise insane town for traffic. The room was very clean and had interesting features like a comfy robe and a diffuser. An amazing grocery store was across the street. The hotel is very well situated to downtown and the under construction promenade and the main beach."

"Room was clean bed comfortable staff great. Location was great, but my room appeared to be some accessible option that featured an ugly shower. Also my room was set low and looked out below ground level on the car park . Views were zero and natural light was scarce."

"The hotel is outdated; room descriptions and pictures are vastly different than the actual rooms (not in a good way), hotel tries to charge you for every little thing, did not have hot water, rust everywhere, several buildings are not handicap accessible, very overpriced for what you get."

"Nice place to stay,close to the beach the hospitality is wonderful! The hotel need a bit of TLC..Breakfast very healthy..the staff is wonderful and the manger is amazing friendly,professional and knowledgeable…Dylan and Paul are the top notch…and “yes” I can’t wait to go back"

"Beds are entirely too high. Uncertain why they are that high. Walls are paper thin and I heard the man next door snoring. They do provide earplugs. No pool. Trash cans are highly accessible. One evening a new guest asked me if I worked there when I went to the front to fill a water bottle. She was waiting at front desk to check in for a longer time than she expected. Turns out the clerk was chatting in another guest room for about 20/30 minutes. The new guest was pretty stressed. "

"Booked the hotel mostly because of the rooftop bar but it was closed on Saturday due to a party. Did get to enjoy it on Sunday. Food was just ok but view is fantastic. If I was to stay in Laguna again someday, I would stay away from the Main Street as it's way too noisy from bikes and cars racing up and down the street all day and night. Room itself was pretty nice with a great balcony. Staff were a friendly. Parking was a half a block away but still very convenient."
