"I recently stayed at The Marine Hotel Troon with my 80-year-old disabled mum as a birthday treat. While we booked a deluxe king room with a sea view, which was pleasant, our stay was overshadowed by serious concerns regarding safety and poor communication. The phone in our second-floor room was not working and was constantly engaged. Given that my mum is disabled, this was completely unacceptable and left me extremely anxious, as I had no way to contact reception in the event of an emergency during the night. To make matters worse, no information about breakfast was provided at check-in, and there was nothing in the room either. I attempted to call reception from around 8pm, but due to the faulty phone, this was impossible. I was eventually forced to go down to reception myself after 10pm just to ask basic questions about breakfast times and location. A staff member did come to the room and confirmed the phone was faulty. I specifically asked to be informed once it had been fixed, yet I received no update whatsoever. By the time we checked out at 10:30am the following morning, the phone was still not working, and no explanation, apology, or follow-up was offered. I find it extremely concerning that a hotel would leave guests—particularly vulnerable guests—without a working means of contacting reception overnight, and then fail to resolve the issue or communicate properly. "Massive party next door nothing was done loud music fighting arguing rang reception. A few times they went to room but it carried on reception this morning weren’t that bothered never stay my there again her attitude was they did leave after 1 am joke of an answer to give a paying customer who needs sleep as working away "

"Arrived to a luke warm welcome. The bedroom window was wide open, to air the room, which was damp. The reception area stank of cigarettes smoke. The carpets are so grubby, some steps the carpet is held together with gaffer tape. When we said we wouldn’t be staying because it wasn’t suitable and damp and in general disrepair. We weren’t offered any incentive to stay or give an option for a better room. This hotel would have been amazing in the 1980’s but has indeed lost all its charm. "

"Had a great stay but the set up for using spa area and pool is very poor for hotel guests , been going here for 5 years now and always enjoyed using hot tub etc now it’s 2 hr slots Had to book spa day and when time was up tried to pay for another 2 hrs but told fully booked even though place only had 12 people using , will find new place to go next year as only good for 1 night now unless u wish to pay extra £300 for spa day "
