Highly recommend staying at Pitti Palace Hotel! The location is absolutely perfect, directly across from the beautiful Pitti Palace and on the quieter side of the river, making it a peaceful retreat while still being within easy walking distance of Florence’s main attractions. Our host, Letizia, was exceptional—warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. She recommended some wonderful traditional local restaurants serving outstanding steak and pasta, giving us an authentic taste of Florence away from the tourist crowds. The room was incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of classic Florentine charm. Every detail made our stay feel special. If you’re planning a trip to Florence, this hotel is an absolute must-stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Magical stay in the Imperial Suite. Spacious rooms with beautiful, whimsical decor. I lived for relaxing on the little balcony overlooking Pitti Palace in the long light of the sun with my morning coffee or pre-dinner wine. Great people watching from that vantage point and so peaceful. (Note: I believe this is the only room with a balcony.) The staff was gracious, helpful and kind. I was suspicious of the air conditioner at first. I turned it on with a remote control by following the instructions on a laminated card and it was so quiet, I thought operating it was beyond my technical prowess. However, the room cooled quickly (and it was 95°F outside!), the unit is just surprisingly quiet. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. You need to reserve it the night before and there is an incremental fee. It looked robust and worth it, we just preferred to grab something small in the bustling cafes on the street. There is a Nespresso machine in the room with complimentary pods. This is very important to me...sometimes I even search hotel reviews for the word "coffee" to make sure I have easy access. This not your typical hotel (book a chain hotel if that's what you're looking for), rather it's like staying as a guest in a home well-appointed with antiques and fluffy towels. It is quirky in some ways: locked gate out front, elevator the size of a shoe box (I took the stairs), and a room key the size of a small kitten (I kid). It felt like an experience made with love.

Not what it promises to be… The lobby is on the second floor. No one greets you. You arrive with luggage and either squeeze into a tiny elevator or climb four flights of stairs. That is the first impression. We stayed in two rooms so I have enough to give a real opinion. The Queen Suite- was spacious and partially beautiful. That is where the positives end. The shower was dark, moldy, and smelled of humidity so strongly I felt sick standing in it. A brick in the bathroom had broken and instead of fixing it, someone shoved it back incorrectly and left a sharp edge sticking out. My child tripped. Lamps were dusty. Robes were ripped. The AC drips when placed in cool temp. We were woken by water pooling on the floor and had to turn it off completely in summer heat. Reception closes and the WhatsApp is unresponsive, so we just lay there sweating until 10am. When they finally investigated they found nothing, because I had already raised the temperature to stop the dripping. Their response “free breakfast” aka l a small table with two coffees on dirty cups and a pile of muffins. For $600+ a night. The second room- had a thin door separating us from the lobby. We heard everything. Mold on the ceiling. And a chandelier above the bed so thick with dust that one touch would have rained onto our pillows. Photos attached. The staff tried. But good intentions do not fix any of this. This affected our trip. I would not return or choose this if you are looking for a luxury experience

The room definitely had old world Italian feel being across the street from the actual Pitti Palace. The room was clean and well equipped. Our room had a balcony overlooking the palace court and main gate. Location was perfect to walk to all landmarks and amazing restaurants not to mention gelato!!

To some, this will be a great experience, but in 2026 it isn’t. Clumsy entrance, terrible lift, no support staff 6pm-9am! No breakfast, no phone charging facility, no privacy whatsoever with the bathroom and generally a complete lack of empathy with customers paying £300 a night. For our British and American friends…….Avoid.

This venue was perfect for first time luxury travelers who like to have access to the central points but appreciate 6 degrees of seperation. We loved the charm of our suite and appreciated how well appointed the formal bedroom, bathroom and sitting room were. The staff treated us very kindly and made our stay a Florence one of a kind. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who wants to have the royal experience without having special ammenities like a gym or swimming pool.

We had a very difficult time communicating with the property as we were going to arrive after 7pm and needed to give ID’s and then assessor check on instructions. Although I emailed the property many times, we never got a link or instructions on how to check in. Luckily a woman was still on the property at 7:30 PM.!!! This was the only negative we experienced… and that was swiftly swept away once we opened the door to the property!!! it will absolutely take your breath away and is in a great location. 100% recommendation and well worth every single euro.!!! Thank you!

This was a last minute reservation in Firenze and we lucked out. The location is excellent, within a 3 minute walk of the Ponto Vecchio bridge (in the more interesting side). The room felt as if we were staying in a literal palace, with beautiful original art and delightful staff. Only one minor deficiency was the quality of the WiFi, but I suspect this is a regional issue. Would definitely come back here.

The staff were truly wonderful at Hotel Piazza Pitti Palace and Letizia made sure we were completely welcomed and comfortable immediately on arrival which was a lovely personal touch. The location of the hotel is terrific, we were able to see so much of what Florence had to offer for dining and site seeing and the suites were very clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. 10/10 we will definitely be staying there again amazing birthday treat!

THE place to stay in Florence! Perfection!

This is the place to stay in Florence!!! It’s beautiful and feels like you’re in a Pitti Palace guest house with the murals and furniture, but beyond the aesthetics, the location couldn’t be more perfect. Delicious restaurants right outside and steps from the Ponte Vecchio. My family fell in love with this place immediately and my son even volunteered to do a silly photo shoot for the reviews. Enjoy!
