The pools and grounds are beautiful and there was a good variety of food, but the quality was mostly average. Unfortunately, the guest experience was terrible! Check-in was slow and unwelcoming, with no map or overview of the resort, restaurants, or activities. The Riu app was frustrating to use for reservations. Because we had two rooms, we couldn’t book one reservation for our whole family and had to make separate bookings with notes asking to be seated together. Our room had stained sheets, a slow-draining sink, only two flat pillows, no amenity kit, and mildew-smelling towels. Housekeeping also failed to replace our towels, leaving us to reuse the ones we’d left on the floor. My son’s TV power button didn’t work, so the TV stayed on and we had to cover it with towels.Staff rarely greeted guests, often acted as though helping was an inconvenience, and sometimes responded with annoyed expressions. One employee shrugged and walked away when I asked for cutlery. Bartenders were often unfriendly and regularly ran out of drink ingredients. Food was average, and we even found a cockroach near the food in the Italian restaurant. There was no room service, no ATM, no coffee or dessert shop, and no pool attendants taking food or drink orders. The sports bar’s “24-hour food” was usually stale snacks which ran out often, and the pool table cost extra. The resort has potential but the appalling service and lack of attention to detail made this a disappointing stay. Won’t be back.

Check in lines are extremely long and slow. Room type booked online was not honored. Rooms smell of strong mold!
