"Disappointed to be told on arrival that there's no breakfast due to staff sickness. Also confusion due to two separate invoices from Hotel.com. Great location on the main street and great to be able to park for free. If the pub car park is full of recommend St John's car park, much cheaper than the abbey cat park opposite. Family room was spacious and pleasant. The room is above the bar so the music noise was noticeable but the manager kindly turned it down when asked. If it was a busy night I think the pub noise might be an issue."

"When booking I didn't realise the hotel was right next to the ticket office to Wookey Hole Caves, what a bonus. Checking in was easy and the staff were very informative. After a busy day we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. You do have to reserve in advance but the staff went the extra mile and fitted us in, we were very thankful due to having an exhausted and hungry child. We couldn't fault the meal, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The family room was a good size, including two single beds and a double, all comfortable for firmer beds. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't hear any other guests, I believe it was busy due to the school holidays. We had breakfast at the hotel, you also need to pre book. Its self service, there was lots to choose from, freshly cooked full English, cereals, fruit, croissants etc. We filled up for the day. We found all the staff to be polite, helpful and as I said previously, they went the extra mile. How refreshing to come across good customer service. Thank you."

"Beautiful riverside room with a large balcony on the Somerset Levels - Peaceful and quiet, we loved watching the moorhen family on the river and the kingfishers racing up and down. The breakfast offers were excellent and very well presented.."

"What a gem of a hotel with plenty of character. This place has a spiritual vibe which is very calming and relaxing, Staff were very friendly and food was great loved the vintage type radio in the room gave a lovely relaxed feel. Hotel was spotless and if you lucky you may see one of the ghosts that are said to roam this old hotel. Highly recommended will stay again! Glastonbury is a wonderful spiritual place with a great vibe. Pubs close early evening for food orders but we visited an amazing Indian restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel."

"The staff were great (10/10) and so was dinner (10/10), but my room was more or less over the bar from which a "bum-thwaka bum-thwaka" issued endlessly until I complained at 11.45 pm. The bed had both head board and foot board and was not made for a 6 foot three inch person. Its mattress was probably in use at the time of King George I! If I had been assigned another bedroom (with a more contemporary mattress), I would have rated my stay five stars."
