“We travel to appleby castle as often as possibly we luv the company of sally and her staff. It will be a shame for the castle to be sold its so relaxing and the staff are down to earth which is what we like as a group. ”

“Beautiful old Manor House, main area and particularly the day room were snug and cosy. Room had all the facilities required. Lovely white fluffy towels and clean linen. Pillows very hard (but that is preference). Majority of staff pleasant. Food excellent. SPA a bit tired in places but thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the massage was lovely. Would book again. ”

“Clean and good facilities. We didn't see another person for the whole stay! It would have been helpful to have had instructions for the appliances and the heating! We could not find a way to turn it up beyond 17° so the lounge was quite cold! It would also have been helpful if the car park was a bit closer ( on the days it poured with rain). I would still recommend it as a good place to stay, as long as you don't mind washing up.”

“Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. “The room was spotless, you can tell it was recently renovated. The amenities were amazing, the beds were super comfortable and we had one of the best sleeps we’ve ever had at a hotel.
