"Lovely hotel - great views, nice big rooms, friendly staff…pool was lovely too. Free bikes to use was brilliant and much appreciated along with table football and play area and more for free. Our only niggle is how expensive the food and drinks were for the quality. Was fine food but priced to be exceptional which it wasn’t…and beers almost twice what you pay elsewhere. But to be honest - made up for by everything else being great!"

Unusually large room; clean, carpetted, tastfully furnished, comfortable bed, plush sofa for the TV (good, with streaming channels). Krupp coffee maker; bottled water, no kettle, fridge, or safe; no a/c, noisy fan. Shower room OK: antique basin tap broken and shower tap kept turning itself off, but hardly mattered. Simple continental breakfast. 4 bookable secure car spaces 200m away, otherwise pay parks a bit further. No chance of dropping bags off at reception. No local EV chargers. Bottom line: prob the best place to stay in Laon."

"Amazing view of the castle from our bedroom! Loved the staff- multi-lingual, very pleasant and helpful. Super cute little quiet town for a short stay. Rooms were clean and efficient with all the basics minus a/c but weather was good. Dinner and breakfast were nice. Breakfast more European but still decent options. I know this is minor but the wall installed hairdryer was an ancient model and hot to hold. Parking nearby but not right beside the hotel. Overall would recommend."

"Fabulous experience and highlight of our 3 weeks in Europe. Beautiful castle, fabulous dinner and breakfast and the experience was lovely and regal with our maître D. The grounds and historic site added to the weekend. Played tennis and will have to come back to enjoy the pool and hot tub when it is not raining. They are renovating some as well, but this is a well preserved piece of history while still have the charm you would expect from a castle. Better than all the modernized chateau’s."
