“I normally do not write reviews; but, wanted to for this hotel. It is a small quaint hotel. It actually has a small pool and hot tub with incredible views. It is actually located in Vezio right outside of Varenna. At first, I was concerned about the location from Varenna. However, Rita the proprietor made sure we had transportation from the train station as well as to and from all of our points of interest. We seriously wanted for nothing. Rita and the staff made sure all our needs were taken...

“Hotel Beretta is in an ideal location in Varenna. Easy access to the ferries and the train. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of options. Some rooms have balconies that have beautiful lake views. There is a great restaurant on the ground floor as well. ”

“Great vibe, and great value! It is in front of the lake. I had an adventure before I arrive there as was late storms and no transport. But managed it. It is clean. Plenty of toilets and showers. The guy at the reception was really good even offered to pick me up when he had to finish his shift. Also he offered me a slice of his pizza as I could not find anywhere with my adventures. Defently recommend it.”

“Really nice place, great view. Massive hill to climb. No Ubers, and near impossible to get a taxi. We couldn’t get one until day 3. Unless you rent a car don’t book this place. Getting to and from town and the ferry with luggage is a nightmare without a car. Walking on your own is ok, but takes time and you need to be in shape. ”

“Beautiful view. It has a .6 mile walk down cobble stone steps to the ferry. So be prepared to walk. But very doable and worth it! Loved our stay! ”
