The apartment was a brand-new build (opened in July this year). The exterior and interior are incredible—full of a warm wood scent with a modern Japanese design aesthetic. The location is unbeatable. It is right outside a subway exit, with a 24/7 supermarket around the corner, 2 drugstores, the famous Kushida Shrine right across the street, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Check-in was smooth using the tablet at the front entrance, and free luggage lockers are available on the ground floor on a first-come, first-served basis.
A few areas for improvement:
1. Customer Service & Language Barrier:
I mistakenly arrived 1 hour early and contact the staff about early check-in. The staff member mentioned he couldn't speak English. When I asked if an English-speaking colleague was available, he went silent for a minute and then hung up without answering. This felt quite rude, and it would be helpful if the management could ensure English-speaking support is available.
2. Limited Locker:
The luggage storage is insufficient for the size of the property. There were only around 9 large luggage slots for a 10-story building, making space extremely limited. Expanding the locker area would make a big difference.
3. Housekeeping: While the hotel offers a light daily refresh (refill of bottled water & trash removal), it would be a nice touch if they also replenished toilet amenities and teabags during this service.
Overall, it’s still a fantastic choice to stay at the heart of Fukuoka!
