Great modern hotel walking distance from the bus/train station and from the green. Also not a bad walk to the main area of Galway's pubs, restaurants and shopping. Rooms are nice and staff are welcoming and helpful. Our second stay at this property - we like it a lot!

Modern decor and NYC soho style property. The area was walkable to restaurants and pubs. The beds could use an upgrade. Our mattress sank on the sides and wasn’t comfortable. The gym was superior and exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly except for one staff member. When asked for breakfast recommendations she mentioned one restaurant and then said “it’s up to you after that”. Not really helpful as our other experiences with staff. Overall lovely hotel. We were happy with our stay.

Great location, beautiful rooms. The room was a little bit small though with a huge bathroom, felt that the bathroom could have been made smaller to allow for a larger bedroom area. We also were woken in the night to a fire alarm going off twice.

Got a super room which was very small could hardly walk around the bed literally 12 inches between bottom of bed to the wall . No onsite parking 5 minute walk to car park and no breakfast included in a €265 a night room , doesn’t justify value for money for me . Pool and spa was nice .

Excellent place to stay. Staff works great as a team. The Power staff (in house gym) were superb. Had a great workout with Kirsten and Shane went above and beyond. Rooms were well done and extremely clean. One of the best places we’ve stayed.

On the day I checked in, there was no slipper in room. I was just walked out in bare feet to go to the pool and there was a nice lady in red and black outfits, she asked me if she can help me to get a slippers for me to walk down. She ran down and got up w quickly with slippers and a big smiles. She went above and beyond for a guest stayed in and it was amazed me. Patrick the manager at the pool was also very helpful and nicely guided me throughout the equipment, pool. It is better service than I received in Ritz Carlton in the US. Thank you

I love the Dean hotels, however on this occasion our room was ever so noisy due to the traffic on the street below, we were woke very early the morning, no sound proofing at all. And while I do love this collection of hotels, they are too similar at this point, it felt a little too familiar and that the Dean group of hotels are trying to create a McDonalds experience, they should work to give the individual hotels their own unique identity and mix up the interior design a little, for that reason, over all I was a bit underwhelmed tbh.

Lovely stay
Hi! We had a really lovely stay with ye in Galway. Service at the desk was quick and efficient and our room was gorgeous! Loved the speaker and vinyl player in the room. Being able to get drinks delivered to the pool was a class treat!

The room was clean and comfortable. Nevertheless, the windows did not block out the loud music that was being played in the pub next door. Despite this issue, we would definitely stay again.

Freezing cold rooms
The room was freezing cold. I had to ask for a change of room at 1am - and that room was also freezing cold. They are clearly not heating the rooms to save money.

The Dean is new and trendy, and located very conveniently to the areas best restaurants and pubs without being right in the thick of bustle. While new and with good amenities (the sauna, cold plunge and gym were amazing features), design and furnishings leave something to be desired. Beds are uncomfortable - many of which are two zip-tied single beds that cave in the middle and where you can’t sleep because of mattress seams. Furnishings consume all usable space on the desk and there is no where to put suitcases or hang clothing. My biggest complaint was with staff, who were generally unfriendly, lacking in knowledge (didn’t know if the hotel had parking, didn’t know about the hotel’s events for NYE, etc) and the restaurant service was entirely slow, lacking in attention and generally lacking in interest. We had to chase staff for every request from start to finish on both occasions there. As a very regular traveller with extensive hotel experience, I’d say The Dean missed the mark on some critical elements of a great stay.

Room was quite small and basic for money. No views at all, looking out to another building. Quite noisy early in the morning with staff emptying bottle bins etc. Wifi quite poor when streaming on TV. Werent very accommodating when booking dinner in Sophies and Elephant and Castle considering that we were staying in the hotel. Previously stayed in The Dean in Cork and it was leaps and bounds ahead of Galway in all aspects. Wouldnt be interesred in staying here again.

Very cool hotel in a great location : 8 minute walk from the train station, 2 mins from the bus station, an easy 10-15 min walk from the the Latin Quarter & Quay St! The room itself was clean and was super stylish, and the staff were pleasant at check-in and check-out! Didn’t check out the sauna/pool, but I heard good things. All in all, definitely worth the price - recommend!

We had an excellent stay at the Dean! The property is so unique and well appointed! The staff is friendly and helpful and the pool and sauna facilities were great to use to unwind after a long day in Galway! Would stay again if ever visiting Galway!
