Travelers beware! Unaware of service animal laws!
The person behind the desk refused to allow my wife to have her service dog with her.
He was very unprofessional, ignorant, and rude as we educated him on service animals and the rules South Korea has provided for service animals. He kept saying he didn't believe us even after we provided documentation and the service ID number.
He then belittled my wife and laughed in her face by stating she didn't need her dog since I was there and suggested keeping him in the car overnight which is completely unethical.
He then contacted an agent from Expedia where our booking was originally made. This agent was just as rude and ignorant. We explained the situation on how we booked this room for 2 nights and how we had a service animal and the man behind the desk was not cooperating. I explained how we had shown proof to her several times without success. She chose to go off of his word entirely while going in circles, talking over us, and not listening to the entirety of the situation.
She then thought she was doing us a favor and randomly suggested we could stay for 1 night to 'help us out,' but the 2 days we booked and already paid for were not allowed and the hotel was 'full' the 2nd night we booked. She continued to offer a stay of one night and also kept saying they needed proof.
After approximately 2 hours of ridicule and standing in their lobby, we were finally able to have both the Expedia agent and worker at the hotel lobby accept her service animal. Know the laws.
