"We had a wonderful 4 days in and around Kandersteg. The train station is very close by. Excellent walks and cable car access. Our time at the Bernerhof was very relaxing. The food was excellent, as always. Food intolerances were taken seriously and adapted to without any fuss, so enabling us to be able to relax properly Thank you very much Claudia, Gerhard and the team."

"Great room for a couple, views were spectacular, and area easily accessible through public transit although be aware of when transit stops running. Since it’s a smaller town, stores are not open late except one, and room did not have refrigerator so unable to purchase any food to be kept for a later time. Also they do not provide shampoo or conditioner, and room does not have air conditioning although that was not an issue for us since it was rather cold most of the time."

"This hotel is on one end of the several blocks long high mountain village of Murren. To get to the village from Lauterbrunnen it is most convenient to use the postbus and then the aerial cableway that continues on to the Piz Gloria. Travel one stop to Murren on this large safe aerial car. The Alpenrue hotel is next to the station. There. Is very little noise from the cableway and none at night. We had 3 excellent breakfasts; croissants, cheese, meat, coffee and juice. Wonderful ! We also had 2 dinners and and an Irish coffee on the public balcony overlooking the alps. The staff were helpful, spoke English and were attentive. The village grocery and many interesting shops were on the level and an easy walk from hotel. Our room was very recently renovated and looked brand new. It was spacious with a magnificent balcony overlooking the mountains. We had a wonderful time in Murren and the Alpenrue. PS. You do not have to be young and fit to enjoy this destination. Reserve today !!"
