Talk about value for money! A very nice 3 bedroom B&B with a roof terrace in the Old Town of Genoa. Large, modern and clean rooms. Excellent service and a friendly and service minded owner. It is on the 4th floor without elevator, so you have to walk up the 105 steps! But it is worth it.

Sehr individuelles B&B Hotel mitten in der Altstadt. Schon die Anreise ist aufregend, da das Domizil mitten in diesen kleinen, verwinkelten Gassen der Altstadt liegt. Die Inhaberin bereitet ein ganz liebevolles Frühstück und ist sehr zuvorkommend. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

B&B tres difficile à trouver même avec un GPS. Quatre étages raides et très difficile à monter. L'accueil était limite : la propriétaire des lieux avait un rendez-vous et nous a donc accueillie froidement. Par contre chambre confortable et petit dejeuner généreux. Le quartier est mal famé ( une prostituée au coin de la rue par exmple), les rues sont sâles limite insalubres...

very quiet location

Stayed for two nights during a conference. B&B is in a part of the city where no cars are going (taxi can't take you there, have to walk the last ca. 200m). Entrance to the hotel was very difficult to find - there is no sign, except for the small letters next to the doorbell on an entrance that looks like every other house entrance nearby. Better bring a map printout zoomed to the highest resolution... But once you are there it is really nice. This B&B is on the top floor of the house (no lift), very quiet during the night, good breakfast, wlan, coffee. I was missing a desk+chair in the room to work with the laptop, but since the weather was good I went to the terrace on the roof which was actually even better than sitting in the room.

Stylish hideaway in the centro storico next door to the splendid Palazzo Spinola. Knowledgeable host Emi gave great advice about where to visit in Genoa and along the coast. My room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Could not recommend the quarto piano highly enough. Will be back soon.

En plein cœur du centre historique de Gênes, ce B&B nous a séduit ! Notre hôte nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux et a pu dés notre arrivée nous informer sur les endroits à découvrir. 5 Minuten vom Aquarium entfernt, fantastische Lage! Sehr sauber und hochwertig ausgestattet mit sehr freundlicher Inhaberin. Ihr Frühstück war grandios (typisch italienisch ausschließlich süß!) Es ist etwas beschwerlich in den 4. Stock zu kommen, da es keinen Aufzug gibt. Aber die Mühe lohnt sich auf alle Fälle!

Beautiful apartment, very strange location

We were looking for a stopover in Genoa and found this place on-line. It was very difficult to find in person as the party of Genoa is like a rabbit warren of small streets that GPS goes crazy in trying to find. When we eventually found it, there was a prostitute sitting outside in broad daylight and then quite a hot walk uop many flights of stairs. However, the set of apartments themselves are beautiful and very tastefully decorated... we felt extremely comfortable and safe there with a great breakfast too.

A home from home

We had a wonderful time in Genoa and Emilia is a caring and lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble, from recommending places to visit or eat to printing off the timings and route of the Giro d'Italia stage we had come to see. The room was very comfortable and the bed enormous. There were loads of toiletries in the bathroom and water in the fridge. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed catching up with Emilia each day for a natter. The location takes a bit of getting used to; its in quite a maze of tight little alleyways and streets and is a real mixing pot of cultures but after the initial apprehension we felt perfectly safe. I had thought that Quartopiano meant "four pianos" but actually means "fourth floor" so be prepared for the climb up the stairs - we counted each evening and depending on how good the refreshments had been it varied between 105 and 108 steps! I feel a lot fitter. If we ever go back to Genoa I would not hesitate to stay here again rather than in an impersonal chain hotel.

Sehr gute Lage . In der Nacht ist es eher in einer Dunklen Gasse in der Altstadt Zimmer sehr stilvoll eingerichtet so wie das Ganze Hotel . Top Lage in der Altstadt alles ist in Kurzer Zeit zu Fuss erreichbar. Extrem freundliche Besitzer und Familie Service lässt keine wünsche offen. Wir Weden definitiv beim nächsten besuch in Genua wieder hier wohnen. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.

Stunning place!

A beautiful place, with a hostess who is both knowledgeful and helpful and kind. The B & B is located near most everything, but is located on the 4th floor without an elevator. This makes for a stunning view from the roof terrace, but is not suited for those who cannot walk the long flight of stairs to get there. The neighbourhood is also crowded with ¨ladies of the night¨, and though we weren't bothered by them, it's not the side of the city one goes on vacation to see. A really nice, clean, and open room and common areas, and a fantastic roof terrace (with a bubble bath!).

Trevligt BB med bra frukost o bubbelpool på taket

Hotellet ligger mitt i gamla stan i Genova med några minuters gångavstånd till många välkända attraktioner samt hamnen. Hotellet saknar dock hiss vilket innebär att man behöver bära resväskorna 4 våningar upp. Hotellet har ingen egen parkering och i hela Genova är det mycket svårt att hitta bra och billig parkering, hotellet rekommenderar dock en parkering 10-15 minuter gångväg bort. Personalen var trevlig men talade bara lite engelska. I övrigt är hotellet mycket trevlig och fräscht med bra frukost och mysig takterrass som erbjuder bubbelpool.

Confort et design dans un emplacement exceptionnel

Nous avons passé une nuit au Quarto Piano B&B. Nous avons été totalement séduits par ce lieu. L'immeuble est extrêmement bien situé pour visiter Gênes. Il a énormément de charme (marbre, grands escaliers). Le B&B, tout en haut, est meublé et décoré avec soin dans un goût moderne. Nous avons été surclassés en Suite : une bonne surprise ! Le lit était très confortable, et la douche-hammam très agréable après une baignade dans le jacuzzi. Car oui, il y a un jacuzzi sur le rooftop - qui offre une jolie vue sur les toits de Gênes ! Le petit déjeuner était à l'italienne, pas continental : il n'y avait que du sucré (pas d'oeufs ou de bacon) - tout était très bon. Seuls petits points négatifs : la rue est fréquentée par des prostituées, pas terrible comme comité d'accueil ; et la propriétaire du B&B avait parfois l'air un peu "débordée" (elle a plusieurs appartements apparemment), et nous a donné la mauvaise clé pour venir récupérer nos bagages laissés en consigne après le check out. Heureusement elle est facilement joignable et est venue nous ouvrir rapidement. Globalement nous avons passé un très bon moment et nous recommandons ce B&B sans hésiter !

A Surprise packet

I thought the quality of the interior decoration and furnishings in this hotel were brilliant. Best I have seen. It was modern, functional and oozed class and style. I was also impresses with the service - in particular the breakfast. However, there are a couple of things people need to be aware of. Firstly, this hotel is in an old part of Genoa, and the streets are so narrow that the cab driver couldn't take me all the way to the hotel. Secondly, the hotel is not marked out on the street, which can make the hotel diifficult to find. It has no lift, so you have to carry bags up to the fourth floor. It is not a hotel that I would recommend to anyone who will arrive late at night. However, once you get there you will find it a haven.
