"We were looking for an overnight stop travelling back North from Southampton and came across here. There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...

"It’s an average hotel that does the job. Having to request and wait for an iron and ironing board doesn’t feel very “4 star”. Decent location for what I needed though and usually a decent rate compared with some other hotels in Reading city centre."

"Overall stay was okay good for a pit stop. Only issue was communication from the staff about breakfast. We were not told upon arrival what time breakfast was served no letter no notes inside the room about breakfast and assuming that it still continues on till 11am. I understand we could have asked but getting told by the manager there was an opportunity to ask left me feeling like it was my fault when it is your job to inform people and give good customer service. There was no opportunity...
