A very special place. Magical atmosphere solely lit by candles. Food fantastic. One can feel the pride and care the owner and staff feel in every detail. It is also blissful to be surrounded by the well kept countryside.

Everything was wonderful - the food was delicious and the staff very attentive at dinner. The only thing that was a bit off-putting was that there were two leftover red wine glasses left out on the table on the balcony that we wished had been removed before our arrival, but that's just a little thing.

There is a high-end restaurant at the Inn that has wonderful food. Delicious breakfasts (and Sunday Brunch) down the road at The Southfield Store were included. You can take a lovely back road walk past a beaver pond that starts from the parking lot. Employees were friendly and helpful. Multiple other protected area hikes in the neighborhood. We felt we lucked out picking this place.

Fabulous stay in the Berkshires

Wonderful 19th century inn! We had a spacious corner room with pullout sofa. We enjoyed sitting out on the beautiful balcony. Comfortable, relaxing, quiet stay. As long as you are not expecting a modern, chain-brand property, and have a car, you will enjoy this place! Note, The Old Inn is almost 2 miles from the delicious breakfast spot and about a 16 minute drive to Great Barrington, which is the closest town. There is no lobby or front desk (or tv or coffee maker, etc in room) as one would find in a typical hotel. So if you are looking to wake up and grab a coffee in the lobby or walk across the street to a coffee shop, you’ll need to rethink your game plan. That said, this was a fabulous, relaxing stay in the countryside. Really enjoyed.

Great stay! But no coffee or fridge on site

Great stay in this historic location! Room was clean and comfortable, but be prepared to step back in time! We were in room 206 with a great back door onto a patio overlooking the pool. We were in town so my wife could be an exhibitor at the Berkshires Art Festival. The included breakfast was incredible! But so you know it was about a mile down the road at the Southfield Store. No coffee available at the Inn. Also no refrigerator in room. Both of these issues were not a problem, just want to let you know!

Built in 1750, The Old Inn On The Green is a rare and remarkable testament to colonial America, Under the deft leadership of owner Peter Platt with the meticulous guidance of his superlative dining manager, Eric, the Inn offers an authentic bygone-era dining and lodging experience unlike any other. From the moment you step inside, you are transported back to the 18th century. The inn’s structure, largely untouched by time, is steeped in history, with its original wooden beams and creaking floorboards preserving the aura of its storied past. But perhaps what sets the atmosphere apart is the dining room— menu changes with the seasons, reflecting the bounty of the surrounding area. Exquisite dishes of finely roasted, richly-flavored choice meats in velvety sauces takes you back to the days when hunters supplied the village of New Marlborough with game. Fresh fish and seafood delicacies from New England’s fabled coastal fishing fleet are transformed into succulent briny ocean masterpieces that would rival any Michelin-starred restaurant in New York or Paris. The inn offers authentic 18th-century coach house accommodations that further immerse guests in the past. Each room is meticulously furnished with period-appropriate decor, from wood hewed beds draped in fine linens to hand-crafted wooden chests and writing desks. The Old Inn is not just a place to eat and sleep—it is an experience, a living museum of New England’s colonial past. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Classic Berkshire Hotel

This hotel was built in the late 1700s so the fact that it’s still standing and can provide guests a lovely room, phenomenal restaurant and wonderful service is a feat in itself. I had a lovely front facing room with huge balcony, sitting room and full bath.
