So comfortable and clean, and enough pillows! (I'm a pillow hoarder) Breakfast was lovely, everyone was friendly, and host is very helpful with getting you and your luggage where you need to be for the ferry back. Absolutely recommend!

Gagga is a wonderful host! She made our stay very comfortable. Due to bad weather, we had to extend our stay by one day. Gagga did not charge us for the extra night! She also drove us around the island to see the sights and took us shopping.

Great guesthouse, informative host

Taking the ferry to Grimsey is an intentional choice, so not a many travelers to Iceland will get over to the island. The hosts for this lodging were great, providing lots of info to help us make the most of our time on the island. The Guesthouse was plenty comfortable and the bonus was they also had a breakfast area, with some basics - the breads were wonderful! We took advantage of the offered refrigerator space, also. If we ever come back to Grimsey, we will be glad to stay with the Básar again.

Nothing could have been better! The hostess totally looked after us in everyway, including picking us up at the ferry (unexpected!), giving us a free lunch, driving us to visit some free ranging goats and feeding them bread, welcoming our questions about the island, it's history, it's current inhabitants of 8 families, the puffins, and any other things that we were curious about. Very engaging and generous. The guest house was flawless and the dining area had a multitude of antique photos of the history of the island. She, her place, and the island were amazing!

This place is absolutely beautiful - our host, Gaga, was amazing - hospitable, and a wonderful cook! Our stay was cut short unfortunately - would love to spend more time here!

Belle auberge bien entretenue à Grimsey. La propriétaire est très chaleureuse et sympathique. Elle est venue nous chercher au ferry en voiture pour nous éviter de marcher avec les bagage. Petit déjeuner très bien. Grimsey est un endroit magnifique, ça vaut la peine d'y dormir une nuit.

Great hospitality

Grimsey island is a bird watcher paradise. The guesthouse is the ultimate in hospitality. It Was raining when the ferry docked and even though the distance to the guest house is minimal, Asloug was waiting to pick us up with a smile... both Asloug and Gagga were always ready to drive us around if we were tired of walking (we never tired). And were knowledgeable about the island, history and great spots. If we go back to Grimsey, we will stay there again.
