great experience with West Lake State Guest House

The hotel is located by the beautiful west lake, it is super clean and very quiet. The hotel helped me to arrange a hotel taxi (super clean Audi). The taxi driver - Miss Zhang was not only drive us to the local interests, but also provide a lot of valuable information and outstanding services for us. Will definitely stay again next year, highly recommended.

Historic hidden gem

It is truly a privilege to stay at the State Guest House, open to the public when not being used for its intended purpose. The hotel is situated in the most beautiful park adjacent to historic West Lake. Everything about the place is truly exceptional, including perhaps the most beautiful indoor pool in Asia.

Beautiful place, poor service

The hotel is located by the beautiful west lake and is quiet. However, it is not convenient to move around (one needs to call transportation for going to hotel's restaurant or going out, and this service is really slow. I had to call three times for each trip).

Beautiful environments but stayed in different building, needs golf car to transfer from one building to another, course inconvenience for people to go even to the restaurant for breakfast unless you stay in the main building. That’s why we have to pay additional to upgrade to the main building.

It is not so convenient if you have a car. There are not so many restaurants nearby. The room need remodeled as a five star hotel. The breakfast and dinner buffets are just so-so. But if you want to enjoy a quiet and joyful time nearby the west lake and you don't like the crowd, it is the best place. It is very private. The garden and lake views are very beautiful and impressive. The service is good. They brought us the ginger tea because they heard my husband coughed inside the room. That is sweet.
