"This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. "Went here in the summer time to do some waking and exploring for a few days. The hotel location is OK but you will need a car. Parking is free and there is loads of room. The food in the restaurant is good. I personally don’t think the hotel is worthy of a 4 star rating. I booked it because it had a pool, upon arrival I was told it was open until 9, I went down twice at 6pm to find all the lights off, no jets running in the pool and it was very dirty on the bottom.
