Helsinki, Uusimaa hotel rooms at the Sokos

"was a bit disappointed. Good WiFi. Small room. Got overcharged multiple times by the staff at the bar. Ordered the same thing and it was charged multiple dollars higher everytime. $12 for a shot of vodka is legit robbery ! Next day. I got a drink at the bar around 1:45pm as well as two other people and was asking for another one and was told that the bar wasn’t open until 4pm. It was literally open prior to. Lmao. Wish I would have stayed somewhere else but I got this off TikTok. I’m so stupid I paid 20 plus for a long island ice tea that taste like juice. 17 dollars for a whisky sour that wasn’t even half way to the top. This is straight robbery. This bar robbed me. They thought I wouldn’t noticed. Everytime I would order a drink , they would add a dolllar and some change. I purposely ordered the same drink, just to see. And they charged me more everytime: please DO NOT AND IF YOU DO ORDER FROM THEM!! Check ya bank statements . I am a well travel person and all I can think about was wow, wow , wow , wow. They really are robbing people. Room was ok. Medium temperature. Small. Livable. No issues. Sauna was ok. Didn’t attend the pool. I would personally skip this hotel or even the city. Lastly. Hats off the chef. Every time it was delicious. The front staff were awesome. That’s why I won’t rate it low. Customer service is a must. "

"Amazing hotel! They had the pullout couch set up as a bed and ready to go. The room had a sauna and was extremely clean and updated. Definitely would stay here again!"

"Great stay in every way but one. I could not figure out the washer/dryer combo. It washed my clothes but would not dry them. Not an ideal situation. I would highly recommend leaving instructions. There was a QR code on the machine, but it led to an inactive link. "

"Absolutely fantastic 2 night stay as a family of 4 (Mum, Dad + 2 teens). We arrived after midnight to a warm hotel and friendly welcome. Easy check in and room was large with comfortable beds. The bathroom had complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, as well as under floor heating!! Breakfast, dinner and "fika" (which is hot drinks and a cake snack 3-5pm) were all included in the room price. Breakfast was a HUGE variety, and dinner is one dish clearly advertised each day. The food was delicious, with dietary requirements labelled well. My daughter had Coeliac and she was able to eat so much as lots was gluten-free, and cross-contamination was catered for. The hotel is a beautifully converted prison, with the history preserved in places. We didn't use the gym or sauna as had a short stay, but would return and factor time for this. The hotel is right next to a stop on the number 4 tram, but we also walked from the central station when we arrived (about 25 mins) and to the market square (10 mins). There is a 24 hour small supermarket a 2 minute walk if you need supplies. We would love to come back to explore more of Finland and would stay here again. Thank you for having us."
