“It’s the perfect stay to stop just off the M6 when driving from Scotland to England. It’s a beautifully decorated pub, with lovely staff and excellent breakfast and dinner. This time our ferry was cancelled from Mull and so we had to change the booking at the last moment. They were understanding and there was no problem rolling over the booking until we could get off the island. We will be forever loyal to this wonderful stop just south of Penrith. ”

“Comfortable, well equipped 2 bedroom lodge with the living room, kitchen, bathroom, garden, parking space. Very kind owners always ready to talk. Property surrounded by a beautiful nature - green hills, farm animals. Not far are nice trails for hiking. Kendal is only 6 miles away. I recommend this place and I want to come back in the future.”

“We stayed at the Kings Head last weekend and had a lovely time. The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree.
