“The room was small. Only small semi-circular shelves either side of the bed. Not bedside tables. We only had one bath towel and one bath sheet between us. There were no complimentary toiletries. Tea, coffee and milk and fresh mugs not replaced during our 3 night stay. There were no curtains and a blind that did not keep out the light. “We stayed here for a wedding in Cuckfields and this hotel was in a very good location for this. The hotel itself is very nice, being a lovely old building.
The room was a bit small for two people and the bathroom did feel a bit run down/shabby.
Also - while I appreciate it was a bit of an unprecedented situation, we were there in one of the heatwaves this summer and really struggled with the heat. Given the age of the building, I would not expect AC, but the fans provided were tiny so...

“Convenient accommodation and parking to attend the opera at Glyndebourne.
Room comfortable, but difficult to open the windows, and there appeared to be damp in the bathroom floor below the cistern.
Good selection for the help-yourself buffet breakfast.
Staff helpful and friendly. Parking easily accessible, but very crowded on arrival at 2pm on a Friday afternoon.”

“The rooms are very clean and beautifully appointed. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful however the staff in the restaurant were not as helpful I asked for skimmed milk and the server said the milk on the table is skimmed, I asked her if she was sure and she said yes - when I pushed further (as you can tell by looking at the colour) she said they don’t do skimmed milk - this felt lazy.
