Hard to find location and average accommodation

Warning: The location that shows on Google Maps is NOT the location of the hotel. Google Maps took us 10mins drive away from the airport to a drop in centre, which felt quite unsafe at midnight when our plane landed. Apple Maps correctly shows the location as being the same place as the Mecure and Novotel, right at the airport. There are NO SIGNS for the Ibis - you have to go to the Novotel/Mecure reception to check in. After we finally found the hotel, things picked up. The Novotel, Mecure, and Ibis all share the grounds and I guess the difference is the rooms themselves. Ours smelled musty and was pretty small (I barely fit between the bed and the wall) but it was fine for our purposes - we were only in Darwin for 24hrs. The airconditioning was excellent. The hotel breakfast was definitely not worth $30 but it was convenient to grab a bite to eat before heading out for the day. The bar area near the pool was very nice, with separate smoking and no smoking areas and good service. We got slushies to cool down in the Darwin heat. I wouldnt stay here again, but it was fine for the quick trip we had.

My room 513 ground level had a comfy bed to relax and zzzleeep at night. I was happy with that and the complimentary tea coffee etc was great to. Swimming in the pools was refreshing & great enjoyed! The only thing that didnโ€™t work was the phone in room 513 to ring reception for enquires and the walk to receptionist was a long way to enquire about an issue or a little question wanting answered.
