Road is well kept. Be prepared to be nervous at times, but know that you'll make it if you stay calm and dive sensibly! Views are fabulous!
Easy access to Independence pass summit and ghost town — when the pass road is open during the summer season.
The pass is only open in the warmer weather, but the aspen viewing in the fall is beautiful. The drive is not for the timid.
Don't drive long or tall vehicles over the pass.
