Smithton Hotel near Inverness Airport is a convenient and comfortable choice for travelers looking for easy access by car or bus. Located just a few minutes' drive from the historic Culloden Battlefield, it also offers opportunities for scenic walks and hikes in nearby Culloden Woods. Plus, there are plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance.
A key detail to note is the front deskโs limited check-in hours, but once checked in, guests receive both a room key and a key to the main entrance for ease of access. I had the chance to stay twiceโonce at the beginning and again at the end of my trip. The staff was responsive to my request for a room away from the restaurant and smoking section so that I could enjoy fresh air with an open window. When I returned with my tour group, they accommodated my request as best as they could, which was much appreciated.
Breakfast is included, which is a great bonus, making mornings hassle-free before heading out to explore. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would gladly return to Smithton Hotel on a future visit.
