"Parking was easy, plenty of spaces even on a busy Saturday afternoon which was when we arrived. The lady who welcomed us was lovely and provided useful information and gave phone numbers for local taxis. Same lady asked if we’d had a good evening on Sunday. Room was welcoming with delightful views across green fields. Bed was comfortable and shower was good too.
Really pleasant stay, we’d certainly go back another time and so would our friends who were also staying at The Railway
Thank you All for making our stay delightful "
"Staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. The rooms are a good size and clean. Lovely stay. The only thing I would say is bring your own devices to watch TV as the TVs don't work well 😔"
"The room was in a neglected state , toilet didn’t flush properly, pillows paper thin, bed rock hard, walls thin, constant banging outside, room smelt damp , very bright flashing from smoke alarm right above bed all night ..a large group of us stayed here for one night and nobody slept well at all. Breakfast was poor choice (no vegetarian option) and took ages to refill when empty and they need more staff around the hotel "
"First time stay, it was a breathtaking in such a stunning setting. The breakfast was incredible. Check in was swift, room was lovely, staff were every so helpful, always with a smile - we had a great experience."
"The bedroom wasn’t very clean, floors had not been hoovered and bathroom had a lot of limescale in shower. Plenty of storage space for clothes. Breakfast was nice in the morning just very pricey for what you get. "
"This was a short break for My wife and daughter as a treat.
The staff were not engaged at all and the service at breakfast each day was very poor.
They had to ask for bowls for cereal and the pastries had run out mid way through service and had to get more prepared.
Staff were not visible and tables left for long periods of time before eventually being cleared. They seemed very uninterested in making the stay a pleasure for the guests.
The one main dinner they had was adequate but not good.
The swimming pool changing rooms were not clean with toilets out of order and the smell of drains, towels very thin.
No shampoo in the rooms and curtains that didn't drawer easily. Towel rail was stained and looked old. The general condition of the room and hotel in general was poor.
I booked a deluxe room but it didn't look very deluxe.
It seemed like they were constantly penny pinching and suggested the resort is under serious financial pressure.
The mud treatment they booked was not worth it as the mud product was too dry and didn't spread across the skin. Most ended up on the floor as it dropped off.
All in all it was not the treat I hoped to give my wife and daughter and I am disappointed to have used my one key cash on it."
"Amazing property, located just 5 mins walk from the Ipswich Railway Station. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, delicious breakfast and an amazing breakfast."
"Staff were excellent ,everything was clean and room size good. Bathroom spotless with nice fluffy towels. Breakfast was plentiful and good, the only minus being the coffee .
Ask for a room at back of hotel ,less noise"
"All Good, very reasonable prices, I recommend customers leave luggage in car until checked in, as accommodation is on opposite side of car park, no complaints, very nice staff, and accommodation presentable, very good food and drink choices, IMPORTANT-- the room key (card) is also used to enter the accommodation block as well as your room.
