Though during my stay Israel had closed the airspace and just about all tourist/religious/historical sites for public safety reasons, my hotel became my sanctuary. The housekeeping staff were always ready to clean room & provide me with essentials if needed. I even extended my stay without difficulty. Wonderful Front Desk; an excellent location close to the sites; many shops all around and places to get food etc. I love the busy location & being right in the middle of local life. It is a very busy neighbourhood - but that is the charm.
The receptionist staff Sami and the rest of the team were absolutely amazing and very professional. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to Jerusalem.
Location was great! We needed a remote for the tv and within a few hours one was provided and a service worker helped make it work. I requested a tea kettle a couple of times and was told one would be delivered. That never happened.
Parking was well explained and everyone was helpful
Although it was in a lower class neighborhood it was beautiful. When I arrived an older staff member noticed I was having a little trouble with my bag and came down the entry stairs and carried it to the front desk for me. The staff were friendly and polite and it was clean throughout. And I have to say that the capriccio at the coffee shop was the best.
Amazing staff. Breakfast was amazing- have a lot of choice for everyone - staff in restaurant very friendly and attended to all your needs. Will definitely come back here again. Thank you for your hospitality
All the staff and super friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious. Even though the hotel is built in the 50’s, it is well maintained. The older lady that works the breakfast buffet is very helpful and kind. The breakfast is a nice variety. The man who works the main desk (I think his name is Sam) is super nice, accommodating, helpful and easy to talk too. The young man who’s the manager is also very nice and always greets you.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Always an enjoyable stay! The staff are the best part of staying here. They are unfailingly kind, helpful, patient and friendly. Location is unbeatable, and easy walk to Salah al Din and the Old City.
The only (slight) disappointment was breakfast. There are not enough fresh and healthy options available. Brewed coffee and hot tea are included. But espresso drinks (lattes, Americano, cappucino,) are extra and expensive.
Great people, and always a nice experience. We will be back!
Decent Stay with Some Room for Improvement
I stayed here recently and overall, it was an okay experience. The room was clean, which was a positive start. However, after taking a shower, water leaked out from the shower area, and the entire toilet floor got flooded. I ended up spending a bit of time cleaning it up, which was quite inconvenient.
The towel provided was incredibly small – almost the size of a handkerchief. That wasn’t ideal, especially when you need a proper-sized towel after a shower.
The internet speed was frustratingly slow, which made it difficult to do anything online. Breakfast was decent but didn’t stand out – it could definitely be improved. Also, I was disappointed that they didn’t provide even a small complimentary water bottle upon arrival, which is usually a nice touch.
On the positive side, the location was excellent, with shops nearby, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception team was especially accommodating, which was nice.
A couple of other things to note: the duvet provided was quite small. When I asked for a double duvet, they gave me another single one, which didn’t really solve the issue.
All in all, it wasn’t a terrible stay, but there are definitely some areas that could be improved for a better experience.
Beautiful : always great satisfaction staying at National Hotel. Staff : very understanding and accommodating. The restaurant offers a variety of menus and the breakfast is a feast in itself. The restaurant's staff is very welcoming.
It's a great hotel for family: kids friendly. There is a park nearby where you could take your children to play. National Hotel is in the midst of the old city Jerusalem which makes it very convenient to move around. The environment in and around the hotel is very welcoming. This summer marked my 6th times staying at National Hotel, Jerusalem . I would recommend it to all.
Ginette,
Westchester, NY.
The hotel did not provide safe box; hotel towels very raggedy and old; breakfast food was can fruit and they charge extra for cappucino or other coffees that where included in the breakfast fee. Overall poor staff helpfulness. Taxi drivers there were nice and helpful.
