It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Positief: goed bed, goede ac. Negatief: kamer rook muf, toiletbril kapot, douchekop kapot, onhandig ingedeelde kamer. Veel overlast van verkeerslawaai. Geen lichtschakelaar bij het bed. Je hebt een zaklamp nodig om het licht aan en uit te doen. Receptionist nooit aanwezig. Geen ontbijt, hoewel dat betaald was. Kandy scam.

Hotel was close to city centre

The hotel was close to the city centre and near railway station in Kandy. The hotel manager was helpful and knowledgeable about tourist sites and bus, train, three wheeler transport. The breakfast was delicious, scramble eggs and toast, and tea.

Horrible plus terrible equal to unbelivable. AC not working. Hort wzter not working. No pressure in water. very old and dirty building. The only good poi t or assest to this hotel is Jenny who is dxtremely helpful, polite and honest and very good hospitality . thats why i stayed for 3 nights.

Great budget accommodation

This is a great location to explore Kandy. Walking distance to all the sites and restaurants. The rooms are above a bakery / fast food place but this doesn't matter. It's quite easy to find on a main road. The room was simple, but spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The linen smelt clean and fresh and had a mattress protector. Staff were really friendly, especially Jenny, who brought us a welcome drink on arrival and provided a delicious breakfast of toast, eggs, jam, fruit and tea/coffee. Really great budget accommodation. Would really recommend.
